WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE DESIGN PROCESS?
My goal is to dive deep into how my clients live in their space. I question their routines, how they cook, where they store things, etc. From there, my goal is to balance the function with the form and give them a space that is not only beautiful but operates how they need it to.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT POINTE?
I really enjoy the close, family-like atmosphere that we have. We’re all very collaborative, which aids with not only the creative process but our different backgrounds and experiences, which has really helped with problem-solving. I also think Pointe is unique in that we have a building company, a painting company, and a custom wood shop as our sister entities. It really allows us to be more “all-inclusive” with our clients, and it’s not a typical perk that all kitchen and bath companies have.
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?
Bachelor of fine arts in interior design from the Art Institute of Michigan. I have 8 years of industry experience. Nominated for the Brian Killian Rising Star award with Detroit Design Magazine. My work has been published in Detroit Home magazine and Houzz.com.
Morgan Connell | Designer
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE DESIGN PROCESS?
I have found a passion in creating the opportunity for each client to tell their story in their own home. I love the process of transformation – not just in the home itself, but in the client’s happiness when designing what they dreamed of and more. There are endless opportunities in the design world, and I would be excited to be a part of your home journey.
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?
Growing up in the family business, I have been involved in flipping and living in different Grosse Pointe homes. I started at Pointe in July of 2022! Before Pointe, I worked in architecture and design in Sun Valley, Idaho. I assisted in creating a variety of residential style homes from modern farmhouses to rustic ranches. Having experience in western and midwestern states has allowed me to recognize what works well in each style home.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I love spending time with my family, friends, and my husky, Kylo. I am a lover of traveling, good coffee, writing, photography, and sports.
KATIE DUM | Showroom Manager, Designer
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?
I started my career in business with 13 years in leadership running distribution centers while always having a love for design and renovation. In 2019, I went back to earn my 2nd Bachelor’s in Interior Design from Wayne State University while running my own design business and joined the Pointe team as the Showroom Manager and Designer in early 2023!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF POINTE?
I love playing volleyball, being on the water, and spending time with my family and 3 dogs. My passion outside of design is the renovation process and learning how to do each aspect of the project! I have renovated the majority of my house on my own, learning new skills with every project!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT POINTE?
I absolutely love the team focused approach we have within Pointe. We all help one another to succeed and to make each client’s project the absolute best design and process possible. Since we have all come from such different backgrounds, it allows us to bring varying perspectives to help everyone grow as designers and project managers.
LUISA NAPOLI | Associate Designer
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?
I graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts. I then worked full-time for 10+ years and in my spare time I renovated, restored, and/or built all the homes I lived in including a suite in a Heritage Property building in Midtown Toronto, Canada where I was also a member of the Board of Directors. My passion and love for Interior Design was something that I decided to pursue and completed a second major in Interior Design at Wayne State University.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE DESIGN PROCESS?
I love it all! A great design can have such a dramatic impact on your everyday life. I believe every design should be unique and something created specifically for you. I aspire to create spaces that are much more than just functional, spaces that have personality and feel great to live in.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT WORKING FOR POINTE?
I enjoy working with such a dynamic group of people. Everything is done to the highest standards and with pride. Our team works hard to find a way to make our client’s wishes come to life. We work on some of the most amazing properties, with homeowners who take the greatest care of their homes.
KYLO | Junior Pawject Manager
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?
I grew up in East Tawas, Michigan with my fur brothers and sisters. I am a wooly Siberian Husky who got adopted by my mom (Morgan) in May of 2023! I have been coming to the showroom ever since I was a puppy, and I quite love it here!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT POINTE?
I love taking naps under mom’s desk, getting carrots from Katie, playing hide and seek with Brooke, stealing Kelly’s dog’s water bowls, getting head scratches from Luisa, and getting all the belly rubs from Ted! When I am not in the showroom, I ride around Grosse Pointe with my mom looking at all sorts of job sites and homes! Sometimes, I even get to meet other client’s dogs, and that makes my day!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF POINTE?
Outside of Pointe, I like to go on long walks, play with dog friends, go camping, eat antler bones, rip up toys, and cuddle on the couch!
